This boy is most definately ANIMATED....in ummm...EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD!

Journaling reads: People always tell me that you are so animated. I always sarcastically reply....ya think? What most people don't know is that when you aren't busy being animated you are usually busy drawing animated characters. In your world art truly imitates life.

Cards???

Here today to share something you don't see from me very often......
a few cards:)
I do make them occasionally but have never felt I did them any kind of justice.
I still don't really...but since I am not creating many Layouts durning these long and crazy busy days of summer....well.....I decided to share a couple of the cards I made for loved ones recently....ya know just so the blog doesn't feel totally abandoned and neglected:)

I found this pin at a flea market. It's back was broken off so it was only 50 cents. Score!!  I instantly thought about putting it on a card with this sentiment and finally got around to doing it.  Using old "found" pieces is one of my very favorite ways to embellish.

Worktable Wednesday...

Summer is in full swing at our house....
as I'm sure it is at yours.
This means that there is very little time for crafting....
unless of course you count the pipecleaner and pom pom crafting that I'm doing with the kids:)
So this morning I got up early to get my crafty time in.
I snapped this picture of Marlee yesterday.
Since I am babysitting a bunch this summer we are running this place just like a camp.
This weeks theme is....yup you guessed it...Pirates.

Arghhh mateys the kids have loved this whole theme a week thing. It's a bit challenging whenever you have a wide gap in ages of the children in your care...but I've kept my two busy with setting up the activities for the younger children...and researching new ideas for upcoming weeks. So far they have all loved it!  Everyone has been happy and more importantly outside and BUSY!!!  
Of course when all else fails I have set up my Netflix with movies to match our theme of the week so that late in the afternoon when it is especially hot....and my brain turns to that of a scurvied pirates....I can always pop something into the blu-ray. This ship will NOT be taken hostage by a band of unoccupied thieves!!

Summery snack idea....

I am always on the lookout for fun snacks that the kids can help me make....or better yet make themselves with a little supervision of course. This was definitely the latter.
 I believe I first saw this one on the Family Fun site and was reminded of it recently on Pinterest. (I would love to give credit to the original source but I am unsure of who that is)

Uncle Sam Ice cream:

 
Ingredients:
Orange sherbert
Reddi Whip
Fruit Roll ups cut into strips
Ice cream cones
Mini M&M's

 
 
stick your fruit roll up strips to the cones.... 
 
a scoop of sherbet.
 
add his hat, eyes, and beard and you've got yourself a delicious...albeit not the most nutritious snack.
